Vacuum technology for handling glass containers
When we say glass containers we mean the glass used for
packaging products.
The glass is easy to clean, hygienic, odorless and inert,
which is why it is the first choice in the packaging of food,
pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Over 40% of the drinks
are packed in a glass container.
The production of the containers is done by melting the
glass at 1600 ° C, after which it is molde d to the desired shape.
The glass is cooled without voltage, and then finished for the
filling process. The glass is handled using vacuum technology.
The pieces of glass can be handled individually, several at a time,
or a whole layer on the pallet.

Vacuum technology for automatic processes

The vacuum technology from SCHMALZ is used as a pre –
tensioning system for portal robots and anthropomorphic robots.
The pre -tensioning solutions can be individually configured and
designed through a wid e range of vacuum components, or
purchased as a complete system, specific to a particular
application. SCHMALZ has developed suction cups for wood
handling that meet the requirements of this industry.
Their shape has been optimized to allow the sealing of
rough and porous areas of the work surface. Integral systems and
spider suction cups can be adapted to all the requirements of the
woodworking industry. They are based on individual components
that allow the design of a custom gripper.

Vacuum technology for handling glass in the
automotive industry

To prevent adhesion between the overlapping glass
sheets, they are covered with separation dust. Special SGF
and SAB suction suction cups generate high shear forces
even when separation dust is u sed.
The specially designed suction cup profile ensures
high friction for safe handling. The reduced stroke of the
SGF type suction cups ensures maximum accuracy while
the SAB type bellows suction cups adapt to the glass with
various shapes.

Vacuum technology | Automatic processes | The
metal processing industry

Schmalz has developed suction cups for handling
metal parts and sheet metal, ideal for meeting industry
requirements.
The materials used for suction cups ensure a long life
of the products, even if the surfaces are oily or hot, while
the optimized shape allows the prehension of the convex or
concave components, but also the absorption of the shear
force during the dynamic processes.

Vacuum technology in the automotive ind ustry

The auto industry is one of the most important
commercial sectors, having a large network of suppliers.
In general, the industry is divided into machine
manufacturers, component suppliers and automated line
builders. Due to increased manufacturing capacity in new
markets, for example China, vehicle manufacturers are
interested in global strategies.
The vacuum components offered by SCHMALZ are
generally used in automatic production lines, in presses or
in the final assembly. SCHMALZ also offers ergo nomic
manual lifting solutions for handling heavy parts.

Vacuum technology in the chemical and
pharmaceutical industry

In order to be safe to handle, SCHMALZ offers
vacuum solutions for a wide variety of applications in the
chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Manual lift
systems ensure ergonomics and safe lifting when handling
bags or barrels. Even in areas where there is a risk of
explosion, and safety measures make handling difficult,
SCHMALZ's lifting systems provide safety and rel iability.
In the pharmaceutical industry, automatic grips are used for
further processing and packaging of products.

Vacuum lifting systems for manual workflow
Vacuum lifting systems allow the simple, fast and
safe transport of metal parts and sheets of metal. Due to the
wide variety of shapes, weights and properties, SCHMALZ
offers two types of vacuum lifting systems: Jumbo type
systems and VacuMaster type syste ms. A wide variety of
suction cups is valid for both variants. Cranes specially
adapted for these lifting systems can be used.
Vacuum lifting systems for the metalworking
industry such as metal parts or sheets of metal can
ergonomically support the handli ng of parts of any weight
and shape. They can handle non -magnetic metal types as
well. Vacuum lift systems allow the parts to be rotated 90 °
or 100 ° vertically.
