2 Purpose
By formulating Y560 -LXX instruction for SDcard upgrade, we can regulate the operation
procedures and matters needing attention during phone ’s upgrading.
3 Scope
This operation applies to HUAWEI Y560 -LXX SDcard upgrade.
4 Operation
4.1 Preparation
4.1.1 Check whether the upgrade environment meets the requirements

Ensure MICRO SD card is read-write and its remaining space is greater than the package . It is
recommended to use SDcard such as Sandisk, Kingstone and Kingmax .

4.1.2 Check version and update package

Go to Settings – About phone –Build number to check version before upgrade. The result
is as follows:

Then check whether the update.App file requested for upgrade is in dload directory of SD card .
4.2 Attention
1. Upgrade operations will erase user data, so important data and applications should
completes the backup before upgrade.
2. In the process of upgrading, ensure the battery level is greater than 20%. It is recommended
to connect to the USB wire in the process of upgrade to make sure that power supply is sufficient
during the upgrade process.
4.3 Upgrade instructions
Compulsory upgrade and normal upgrade are the two ways for SDcard upgrade. The first
method is suitable for the phone s which can't boot up or in need of repair . The other is applicable for
users to upgrade version or other situations .
4.4 Operation steps
4.4.1 Normal upgrade
Step 1: Prepare a SD card which capacity is more than 1 G. And it is recommended to use SDcard
such as Sandisk, Kingstone or Kingmax.
Step 2: It’s optional to format SD card first.
Step 3: If the re isn’t dload folder in SDcard directory , create dload folder . And then copy
update .App file to dload folder . The result is as follows:

Step 4: Insert SDcard and re boot. Then go to Settings – All – System updates – Menu – Local
update – Full package: UPDATE .APP – Install. Here users need to c hoose whether to back up data
according to the dialogue, and finally select Install button to upgrade until a robot comes up to
indicate complete update. The whole process is shown below.

4.4.2 Compulsory upgrade
Step 1: Prepare a SD card which capacity is more than 1 G. And it is recommended to use SDcard
such as Sandisk, Kingstone or Kingmax.
Step 2: It’s optional to format SD card first.
Step 3: If the re isn’t dload folder in SDcard directory , create dload folder . And then copy
update .App file to dload folder . The result is as follows:

Step 4: Hold the volume up and down keys meanwhile more than 10 seconds first, and then press
the power button . This will automatically trigger the SD card upgrade operation , thus go into the SD
card upgrade interface . When a robot comes up, t hat represents complete upgrad e. The whole
process is shown below.

4.5 Verification
Phone automatically restart s after complete upgrade. After rebooting, go to Settings – About
phone – Build number to check the version after update. The updated version is shown below.
