LUMINAIRES | designed the three lamps that are part of the Theatre Collection in the spring of 2018 as a request from Odeon Theatre for the International Theatre Day. They are made at Foldo Studio, and | had the help of its founder, Nicolae Baciu for the tripod one. The material | used is cardboard and they come flat-pack. They are a conversational piece, with an intense light and harsh look, a redesign of the classic theatre light projector. They are made from scraps, by using the material that remains after cutting larger products on the digital cutter or laser. This way the waste can be reduced and for the same reason, the circles that form the shape are cut in half They form a sturdy cylinder inspired by Frank Gehrys “Wiggle Chair”. LIGHT BOX This is a custom made light box for Odeon Theatre. My main part in the project was to make the theatre sketch that can be safely laser-cut. The chalenge was to simplify the look, while maintaining it recognisable. (2017) | CHRISTMAS LIGHT This light box was a Christmas project made in 2017. It is now a seasonal product sold at Foldo Studio, together with other producis made of cardboard, such as a carboard tree | designed, meant to reduce the plastic consumed during that period that makes people buy a lot of plastics. A HOUSE FOR PETS | designed these houses for pets after a request. It is said that cats love boxes and someone wanted a prettier house for his cat, one that can be personalized by drawing on it. This way both the master and the pet can enjoy the house. The three models are for indoor use, for small to medium sized animals, both cats and dogs and they can be assembled really fast. pee === Above. you can see the prototypes that were tested with a 8 kg cat. On the left you can is one of the renders | did with the three pet houses. MY FIRST HOUSE A toy destined for the first years of children’s lives, that provides a personal space for them. Children’s products are often femporary and many of them are made of plastics. This toy comes as a more environmentally friendly alternative to toys already on the market. Another advantage is that it can be folded and stored easily. FURNITURE ©» f During the two years | performed as a designer at Faldo Studio, | made cardboard furniture as an alternative to the usual one, for people that offenly change the place they live în. The products last betwen 6 months to 3 years, they come flat pack and there is no glue or screws in them. The cardboard Used is a sturdy one that resists heavy loads. AMENTUL Pacientul, aflat într-o zona care nu dispune de cabinet stomatologic, apeleaza la spitalul local, unde i se prescrie un tratament ce combate simptomele. WAITING ROOM! ‘SORRY WE ARE CLOSED Pentru a-si trata problema cu ajutorul unui medic specialist,este nevoit sa calatoreasca spre cel mai apropiat cabinet stomatologic, care se poate afla intr-o localitate din apropiere. Potrivit statisticilor realizate pana in 2016, rata mortalitatii cauzata de cancer in zona cavitatii orale este in crestere, iar vizitele la cabinetele departamentul de urgenta s-au dublat intre 2000 si 2012. La nivelul Romaniei exista 1 medic la 1725 de pacienti, fata de unul la 833 in Norvegia. 70% dintre romani nu au toti dintii naturali, intre care 30% si-au pierdut toti dintii. 83% dintre copiii cu varsta de 6 ani au dintii afectati de carii si 32% dintre romani nu se pot hrani normal din cauza problemelor de masticatie cauzate de dantura precara. Aceste date provin predominant din mediul rural unde se afla mai putin de 8% din cabinetele stomatologice din tara. 16 judete au mai putin de 5 cabinete scolare, iar media nationala este de un cabinet stomatologic la 7000 de elevi age SCOUT MOBILE DENTAL CLINIC Dupa mai multe zile si un drum lung, individul are parte de tratamentul necesar, tratament care de multe + ori se face in mai multe sedinte. Unitul dentar se deschide, usa devine blat de lucru, din interior se vor scoate urmatoarele: bratul pentru freze, frezele, pedale de actionare si cablul de alimentare. Tehnologie de fabricare: turnare in matrita. The client is Mazio Caffe, that sells heir coffee monodoses all over the couniry, mainly to shops. Their brief was to design a new packaging for fewer monodoses, hat wil be part of a campaign meant to attract a new type of customer. Their first target would be parents of small children between 3 to 10 years old. Their wish was to come up with a unky&original solution, that will give he disposable packaging a second life and all of this on a budget. The first thing | said to myself was that | need to create something easy and cheap to produce. After a bit of user research the idea came naturally. The package will give a hand to busy parents that want their morning coffee to be a moment of peace, by becoming a toy for the child: a house for their cars, dolls, robots and other toys they have. The windows and doors present on the box are partially cut, and with a slight push they become openings .Every box has a bigger opening on the back, so you can take out the coffee monodoses without ruining the “house”. | chose a monochrome&cartoonish style, similar to a coloring book so the child can color the packaging.
