Tourism income increased by 4.7% compared to same quarter of previous year

In the third quarter; which is July, August and September months of 2013, tourism income increased by 4.7% and reached $ 11 579 173 thousand. While 79.6% of this income was obtained from foreign visitors, 20.4% was obtained from citizens resident abroad.

Visitors organise their travel individually or with package tour. While individual expenditures constituted $ 8 366 686 thousand of the total tourism income, $ 3 212 488 thousand of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.

Tourism expenditure increased by 15.4% compared to III. quarter of 2012

Tourism expenditure which is the expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident in Turkey and visited abroad, increased by 15.4% compared to same quarter of previous year and reached to $ 1 224 441 thousand. While $ 1 065 100 thousand of total expenditures was individual expenditures, $ 159 341 thousand of tourism expenditures was package tour expenditures.

Number of Turkish citizens visited abroad increased by 49.9%

In this quarter number of Turkish citizens visited abroad increased by 49.9% compared to same quarter of previous year and reached to 2 067 830. Average expenditure was $ 592 per capita.

Tourism income increased 8.9 % compared to the same period of the previous year

In the third quarter of 2011, July, August and September tourism income increased 8.9 % compared to the same period of the previous year. Tourism income is examined as $ 9 339 028 541 at third quarter of 2011. 78 % of this income is obtained from foreign visitors, 22 % is from citizens residing outside Turkey.

Visitors carry out their travel individual or package tour. Tourism income including individual and package tour expenditures, $ 7 185 082 374 of tourism income comes from individual, $ 2 153 946 167 of tourism income comes from package tour expenditure.

Average expenditure is $ 623 in second term of 2011. Foreigner’s average expenditure is $ 568. Citizen’s residing outside Turkey average expenditure is $ 947.

Number of departing visitors increased 8.1 % compared to the same period of the previous year

Total number of departing visitors is 14 991 270 in July, August and September it is shared by 12 819 786 foreign visitors and 2 171 484 citizens residing outside

Tourism expenditure decreased 20 % compared to the same period of the previous year

Tourism expenditure covering citizens expenses residing in Turkey and visited abroad decreased 20 % compared to the same period of the previous year, as examined $ 1 044 887 999. These expenditures consist of $ 989 950 724 from individual and $ 54 937 275 from package tour. This term 1 465 601 citizens visited abroad, citizen’s average expenditure is $ 713.

Tourism income increased 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year

In the second quarter of 2012, April, May and June tourism income increased 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Tourism income is examined as $ 5 576 155 275 at second quarter of 2012. 82.1% of this income is obtained from foreign visitors, 17.9% is from citizens residing outside Turkey.

Visitors carry out their travel individual or package tour. Tourism income including individual and package tour expenditures, $ 4 303 772 880 of tourism income comes from individual, $ 1 272 382 395 of tourism income comes from package tour expenditure.

Average expenditure is $ 598 in second term of 2012. Foreigner’s average expenditure is $ 544. Citizen’s residing outside Turkey average expenditure is $ 1 095.

Number of departing visitors decreased 0.2% compared to the same period of the previous year

Total number of departing visitors is 9 323 460 in April, May and June it is shared by 8 412 308 foreign visitors and 911 152 citizens residing outside

Tourism income increased by 5.5% compared to same quarter of previous year

In the fourth quarter; which is October, November and December months of 2013, tourism income increased by 5.5% and reached $ 7 765 343 thousand. While 77.4% of this income was obtained from foreign visitors, 22.6% was obtained from citizens resident abroad.

Visitors organise their travel individually or with package tour. While individual expenditures constituted $ 6 182 502 thousand of the total tourism income, $ 1 582 842 thousand of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.

Tourism income in 2013 increased by 11.4% and reached $ 32 310 424 thousand compared to the previous year. While 78.9% of this income was obtained from foreign visitors, 21.1% was obtained from citizens resident abroad.

In this year, while individual expenditures constituted $ 24 836 789 thousand of the total tourism income, $ 7 473 635 thousand of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.

In this year while average expenditure per capita was $ 824, the average expenditure of the foreigners was $ 749 per capita, average expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident abroad was $ 1 252 per capita.

TOURISM STATISTICS, THIRD QUARTER OF 2009

The aim of the departing foreign visitor survey is to analyze the visitors’ profile, travel characteristics and to estimate the tourism income. This survey is implemented for foreign visitors and citizen residing outside Turkey. The intention of the arriving citizen survey is to analyze citizens’ profile, travel characteristics and to estimate the tourism expenditure. This survey is implemented for citizen residing inside Turkey.

Tourism income decreased 4,6 % compared to the same period of the previous year

According to departing visitors survey, tourism income decreased 4,6% is examined as $ 9 526 319 833 at third quarter of 2009 compared to the same period of the previous year. $ 7 040 705 418 of this income is obtained from foreign visitors, $ 2 485 614 415 from citizens residing outside Turkey.

Visitors’ travel is carried out as individual or package tour. Tourism income including individual and package tour expenditures, is shared by $ 7 652 089 579 individual and $ 1 874 230 254 package tour. At third quarter covering the months July, August and September, the highest tourism income was examined $ 3 813 819 077 in August. It was $ 2 906 792 509 in July and $ 2 805 708 246 in September. Average personal expenditures are $ 608 for foreign visitors and $ 1 168 for citizen visitors.

Number of departing visitors increased 2,6 % compared to the same period of the previous year

Total number of departing visitors is 13 698 655 in, July, August and September, It is shared by 11 570 609 foreign visitors and 2 128 046 citizens residing outside Turkey. At the third quarter, the highest visitors are observed as 5 491 275 in August, 4 218 369 in July and 3 989 011 in September.
