Dear HR Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the Leadership Programs Officer position that is currently available
with the Aspen Institute . I appear to be a great match for this role which was recently advertised on the
institute’s website. My passion for the international relations sector, international communication and
journalism ,and organizing events are equall y matched by my experience in them. Therefore I am truly
confident that I can help Aspen Institute Romania meet any challenges it faces now and in the future.
Presently I am on a post -doctoral Fulbright scholarship teaching communications and journalism at
Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois (USA). At the same time , I am still employed as a radio
journalist w ith the Rom anian Public Radio (Radio Cluj) – , where I have gained a reputation for my stories
and organization of various events (both with Rotary Cluj -Napoca and various Cluj -based universities) ,
my impressive work rate and integrity , andmy foreign languages skills . I have also served as a
correspondent to Berlin and Budape st for Radio RomâniaActualităț i and later as public relations officer
for the League of Rom anian Students Studying Abroad. The attached resume will provide a more
complete overview of my accompli shments.
What it may not show sufficiently however, is that I am a s elf-motivated individual, able to perform very
well under pressure and that I bring to the table solid capabilities in political analysis and research. My
record demonstrates that I deliverexcellentaudio information content, and I bring to this work creativity
and excellent communication skills. As a Romanian with a W estern education, I can deliver research and
organizing efforts in perfect English, French, German, and Italian. Curren tly I am looking to join an
exciting and ambitious o rganization such as yours. T herefore I would like to arrange an interview with
you so I can explain in more detail the contribution I can make to Aspen Institute Romania.
My Fulbright scholarship in the USA will end on February 1, 2016. I appreciate you taking th e time to
