Hemangiomas are non-cancerous growths that are formed due to an abnormal collection of blood vessels.
The project aims to develop an algorithm based on the clinical data correlated with the imaging data, to
be able to accurately predict the best results both aesthetically and functionally for a certain type of lesion.
The software will incorporate advanced methods for accurately measuring specific hemangiomas lesions,
integrate medical information resulting from clinical observations and integrate statistical methods and/ or
computational methods inspired by nature (for example: nonlinear dynamics, cellular neural networks ,
artificial neural networks) to link this information to image processing. Based on these correlations, we
will establish a prediction mechanism for the evolution of hemangiomas. This will help determine the
best method of therapeutic intervention to minimize complications.
