A b s t r a c t
Today, technology “invades” more or less of every aspect of our lives. How about using this detail in
favor of each of us? Starting from this idea, it was wanted to solve a problem encountered in the real world,
more exactly, namely, meeting of people with common interests in spending leisure time. Android MeetYouUp
mobile app comes as a solution to this problem, enabling users to create and manage leisure events or activities
for its users. In addition to the ones presented , MeetYouUp offers the opportunity to create groups, thus
increasing the interactions between users, customizing them on common interests.
This paper will feature features of the Android operating system, such as a small history, basic
principles and some curiosities; then the technologies used to present the application's development
environment, namely Android Studio, the use of Firebase platform services to store users' data, various files,
such as images, and their authentication and Picasso library to bring the mentionated files from an externally
environment; and the following will be the aspects of the application, related to the startup idea and some
technical details.
